Meet Alison. Alison at one time was 75+ pounds over weight and in her wildest dreams never thought to teach group fitness however, after an accident left her bed ridden and depressed, Alison started to look for ways to slim down so, once well again, Alison and her husband signed up for a 5K training program.

Since, Alison has become a volunteer mentor for the No Boundaries beginner 5K training program, has completed a Half Marathon, Warrior Dash, and participated in numerous other 5K’s.

Alison passionately believes “you can do anything you decide to do, and that fitness is the fastest way to prove that to yourself.” With the mind-set that fitness is more than what you look like, its about how one feels, through Coaching, Alison focuses on empowering her clients to achieve their goals and having fun along the way.

Alison is the USA Master Bokwa Education Specialist Trainer, training others to become Bokwa instructors and introduces Bokwa in international markets working with Bokwa creators and master trainers at events to showcase Bokwa to large and small-scale audiences.

Alison is also a licensed Zumba instructor, certified AFAA Group Fitness Instructor, and Certified ACE Group Leader. Previously trained in multiple Zumba specialties such as Cycle Pound, Turbo Kick, Hip Hop Hustle, Booiaka, Silver Sneakers, and Stride, Alison has has over 25 fitness certifications and licenses and 25+ years as a dance veteran and a former stage performer, including Booiaka, Cardio Strip Tease, Stride, Jazz, Tap, and Ballet dance classes with student’s ages ranging from 4 to 100.

Meet Alexis Mitchell. Alexis lives in Jamaica, Queens with her husband, and daughter. Alexis believes that as each person embarks upon their own personal wellness journey they must first identify what they want, why they want it and what it will take to get “there”.

Alexis’ desire is to assist others in utilizing available tools through the PEPP program, to help achieve their goals by taking the necessary first steps and then, continuing along their path of health and wellness through knowledge and skills. Alexis wants to help others understand the benefits of healthy living through weight control, nutrition and exercise. Meet Catherine Bayangos Lauritsen. Catherine lives in Denmark, Copenhagen and works as an occupational therapist with a focus on rehabilitation. As a certified Zumba and Bokwa instructor, Catherine teaches both classes weekly in addition to administering Bokwa B.E.S.T (Bokwa Education Specialist Trainer) Master Classes and certifications each month.

Catherine has been practicing an active and fit lifestyle since the age of 15, and has great passion for maintaining healthy and fit lifelong and, as a Reiki healer looks upon the world with holistic eyes.

Through the PEPP program, Catherine wants to help people make the changes they need in their lives, and give them the tools necessary to create daily routines and maintain a healthy lifestyle that can be practiced everyday.

Meet Jennifer Brown. Jennifer’s passion for fitness was ignited during her own personal journey to lose weight and develop a healthy lifestyle. Severely depressed and reaching her highest weight of 230 lbs, Jennifer decided to make a change in her life by making healthier food choices and exercising regularly which initially resulted in a 60 lb weight loss along with growing confidence and self-acceptance. After the initial 60lb weight loss, Jennifer hit a plateau that lasted almost 7 months despite doing everything she knew to do to jump-start her metabolism. Jennifer discovered the PEPP program through witnessing a close friend with tremendous weight loss success.Jennifer decided to give PEPP a try, too and within one a week changes started to take place and, within 3-months, 20 lbs were gone! Through PEPP Life Coaching, Jennifer has made great strides to achieving her goals.Jennifer has since changed her career and dedicated her life to fitness and helping others in the struggle to make lifetime, lifestyle changes.Now armed with many certifications including: Bokwa instructor, trainer and ambassador, and PEPP coach Jennifer has also done significant research on vegetarian and vegan protein sources and developing healthy vegetarian and vegan meal plans. Mary Calderone

Meet Mary Calderone. Born and raised in Binghamton, NY, Mary now lives in Broadalbin, NY and has been a certified PEPP coach since August 2015. Mary comes from a diverse dance background having studied and performed several styles including Tap, Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip-Hop and African. After graduating from SUNY Brockport in 2005 with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance, Mary discovered the world of dance fitness. Mary created and taught her own Hip-Hop style aerobic dance class for several years before becoming a licensed Zumba instructor in 2012. Shortly after, Mary went on to receive additional certifications including Hip-Hop Hustle, Bokwa Fitness (levels 1-4 and Punch & Strike) and PiYo Strength. Mary began to struggle with her weight and found it hard to understand the reasons why suddenly, there was a continual weight-gain that began to affect her until Mary discovered the PEPP Program. Seeing others go through the program made Mary realize that she wanted the same successes and happiness that was witnessed from others. Mary also decided to become a PEPP Coach, which has changed her world completely! Mary believes that feeling good builds confidence. Confidence builds courage. Shashu Baraka

Shashu Baraka

Shashu Baraka, born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, is the mother of one daughter. Shashu’s foundation of healthy nutrition goes back to her early childhood years. Her mother practice vegetarianism for 3-4 years, of which, some of that time she was pregnant with Shashu. Shashu was vegetarian for the first 2-3 of her life, feasting on things such as fresh fruits and homemade yogurt. At the age of 3, Shashu started taking ballet and this became her introduction to physical activity (and physical fitness). Shashu is now a Wellness Coach at the YMCA and works with members battling cancer, diabetes, and obesity. She holds many fitness certifications, is licensed by Brainstate Technologies as a Brainwave Optimization Technologist, and an A.A. Degree with an emphasis in Holistic Health from Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

Over the years Shashu’s interest, in everything related to the human body, expanded. When faced with experiencing PCOS/Metabolic Syndrome with Insulin Resistance and unexplained weight gain, Shashu’s desire for answers matched her desire to help others who had similar experiences. “Even when I’m not enrolled in collegiate classes, I’m still researching and reading! Too many people are gaining weight, getting sick and worse case, dying at a young age due to poor nutrition, lack of physical activity, and an absence of support and resources. I want to help others become aware of their worth, their potential, and their greatness and being a PEPP Coach will allow me to do so! I’m determined to make my community healthy one person at a time (and then I’ll work on the rest of the world)!”

Meet Sheryl Rizzo. Certified PEPP Coach, Fitness Instructor, Bokwa Instructor on levels 1-4 and Tone & Core Instructor. Sheryl is also a Life Coach certified through the Life Coaching Institute. Currently, Sheryl is a student at Janssen International as an Iridology student, studying Integrative Nutrition and has successfully integrated in her life, the Eat Right for Your Blood Type program by P. D’Adamo. Sheryl is focused on partnering with her clients to develop nutrition and exercise programs that optimally burn fat and elevate the metabolism through better nutrition and exercise to increase muscle mass while shaping and slimming the overall body. Having fun through exercise and feeding your body properly though the PEPP Program, its tools and plans will permanently empower you FOR LIFE. Meet Tina Hennessey. Tina resides in Latham, NY with her husband and four children. Family is everything to Tina and the whole family is very active in sports and school. Certified in Zumba instruction, Tina holds a group fitness certification through the National Exercise Trainer Association (NETA) and is certified in First Aid and CPR/AED. Employed at the area’s largest family health and wellness center, Tina teaches fitness classes in various formats as well as within her community. Recently, Tina became a Bokwa and Punch & Strike Fitness instructor, certified in Bokwa levels 1-4. In the spring of 2016, Tina will have completed the Fitness Specialist certificate program at Hudson Valley Community College. Before PEPP Tina and her family made a lot of unhealthy choices.
